Father nearing the end
Posted on August 11th, 2009 by Merle
My father is currently on life support. We are waiting for my brothers and some other family members to show up before removing the support. He is not expected to make it.
UPDATE: My brothers showed up. We all said goodbye and we took the breathing tube out of him and turned off his medicine. He has an anti-anxiety medication and a pain med to help keep things under control, but so far, he is holding in there. My Dad is a tough old bird. His breathing is labored, but he IS breathing on his own. More when I know more.

I’m so sorry Merle. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
I want you to know your family is in my thoughts as you experience this difficulty.
I also wanted to share that it was a year ago today that Kevin was officially diagnosed with Angiosarcoma and our journey truly began. I also have noted in the blog from a year ago (http://www.theboitsons.info/?p=126) that it was when our family first met your family. I’m so glad to know you.
Hey Brenda. Thank you for your thoughts; as you know, this is a difficult time (one which is particularly stressful because there really isn’t anything we can do for my father).
It’s odd that it was only a year ago tomorrow that I had my surgery. It seems so long ago. I wish you all the best!
